Set in and around Oxford between the years of 2025 and 1970, this unique concept for a time travel novel features plenty of humour, nostalgia and “what if” moments. From middle-aged father all the way back to childhood, the passing years present all manner of different challenges as he grows ever more youthful.

This novel is the first in a series of spin-offs set in the same universe as the author's Time Bubble series. It is intended as a completely standalone story which can be enjoyed with or without having read the earlier books.

My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday.

A great idea for a story, someone living their life backwards. The book starts with Thomas in hospital, living his last day. It takes Thomas a while to understand what is happening when he awakes in hospital the next day feeling slightly better. He quickly realises there are no consequences for him for his actions each day as each new day for him will be the day before but could he use his hindsight to make changes to improve the life of his family? He also finds the lack of consequences and becoming ever younger is very much a double edged sword. Exciting firsts for others such as the birth of his child, for him are sad endings.
I particularly liked this author's style of writing. He writes with clarity and simplicity allowing the characters and stories to develop in their own time.

Unique and quirky. I loved it!

The book introduced the protagonist Thomas Scott. He’s in hospital, confused and obviously dying. There is a woman sitting by his bedside and she says, ‘Happy New Year Dad.’ Then he dies.

The next chapter Thomas wakes feeling well enough to watch TV. A news broadcast tells him ‘preparations are underway for tonight’s New Year celebrations’ and so, remembering the woman’s ‘Happy New Year’ words from yesterday is confusing for the protagonist.

It's a strong opening.

During the story we are taken, alongside the lead character, on a journey to slowly realise we’re going backwards in life. Each day runs forwards, but in the early hours of the morning we’re pinged back to the start of the day before.

So as Thomas slowly starts to ‘get better’ from cancer he realises he can make changes so he never gets the illness in the first place by not smoking and eating healthy, although he wakes up every day with nicotine withdrawal symptoms until he hits the point where he first began smoking and simply doesn’t begin. Here, I wonder why he went through the pain of the withdrawal when, by not starting to smoke, it’d never happen anyway?

Thomas doesn’t remember his life so the people coming and going are new to him ie his daughter, but the connection between him and his family is strong and touching.

The author takes Thomas through a sticky patch where he seeks out prostitutes and has a girlfriend almost thirty years his junior, which I found distasteful, but Thomas is obviously a lonely middle-aged man. There is evidence of a wife, killed by a drunk driver, and as Thomas is pulled backwards through time he plans to save her and maybe change his sad future.

The author doesn’t take us through every single day of Thomas’ backwards life but in significant periods where the character makes changes to alter his future. We’re not told why any of this has happened but that only adds to the mystery and appeal of this book.

And when Thomas relives his own birth it 'resets' time and he begins life going the correct way but we're not told if he remembers anything of his other topsy-turvy life or even he’s destined to yo-yo for eternity.

All in all this is a fantastic story for time-travel lovers. So unique and quirky, and worthy of a 5/5. It’s British so expect Britishisms.

I didn’t find any errors in the book.

Delightful time travel adventure.

This is such an imaginative exercise - a time travel adventure worth taking. At 72, I felt like I was in the company of old friends. I think most mature people ask the question, "If I could do it all over again, what would I do - and would it make a difference?" Jason Ayers asks and answers this question in a delightful way.

We finally get more Tyler and Meredith!!!! This book was great. I love Laramie Briscoe's books because she covers much more than the fantasy of a motocycle club. We see the real struggles coiples go through. Anger. Hurt. Love. It's beautiful because it's life. Pick up all of these books. You won't regret it!

Strong families, love and loss and growing into who you were meant to be =)

You all wanted more Tyler and Meredith...ask and you shall get what you want...and this one is chock full of romance, family love and some unexpected drama that turns violent.
When we last saw this couple, they had taken in a baby to love and keep as their own and this book begins with the adoption being finalized. There is always a fear that you will come to love a child deeply and then have them snatched away by the birth parents...but so far there had been no sign of anyone and their dream of having an HEA with Addie is finally coming true.
Meanwhile, the "kids" and their angsty drama is taking over everyone's lives...the twins Drew and Mandy each have their sites set on someone and their young ages doesn't stop the fact that sexual feelings and activities are inevitable. Drew is in teen heaven and lust with Charity, a stripper's daughter and Mandy is secretly crushing and debating "giving it all" to her brother's BFF Dalton. It was an interesting and fun dynamic when all the MC dads weigh in with their opinions and advice (Liam the one married to their mom and Tyler, the one Drew confides in) and I am looking forward to the next book which will cover Drew and Charity when they have aged a few years.
The other main focus of this book is on the struggle of Tyler and Meredith to deal with the issues stemming from their troubles to conceive a child of their own. Meredith has already had to overcome the trauma of her rape which will stay with her their whole lives, but giving Tyler a child of his own has so far been out of her reach and it was a really sweet but tense time as Tyler does his best to keep her happy and protect his new family.
Of course no biker book would be complete without some mysterious and troubling woman to enter the picture, and Stephanie (a new arrival to the CRISES home) is just that person. She has a grudge of some sort against Meredith, is doing illegal activites in the center and causes some major damage that threatens the MC family big time.
I really enjoyed the sensitive and more serious change of pace of this book...family, love and loss, and growing into who you are meant to be all figure prominently in this newest Heaven Hill entry. We get a more up close and personal look at the "family life" of the key members of the club...their children, their relationship struggles and how parenthood affects each in different and profound ways.
I highly recommend to anyone who has read the previous books in the series and would like a sweet story with some HEA endings and some "for now" promises as well.

I was given an ARC of Beginning of Forever by the wonderful Laramie Briscoe. I’ve followed this series since book 3 was released. Here we are on book 7 and I fall more in love with the men and women of the Heaven Hill series each time. Beginning of Forever is Tyler and Meredith’s second book and let me tell you, Ms. Briscoe did not disappoint. Their journey is an incredible one. From the moment they met in their first book to the end of their second, their relationship is filled with passion, compassion, love, understanding and true friendship. We get to visit the other couples and see a little of what is going on in their lives. In addition, Mandy and Drew take a more active role in this book, allowing a glimpse into their lives. The entire series is written in such a manner that the characters easily come alive. Take this ride with them. It’s well worth it. I look forward to the next adventure with the Heaven Hill MC.

Steve Beaumont's Extremely Good Book!

Generally with books of this type (Beginner to Intermediate "How To" books) you get some good info, and some less useful info, or even No info on what you're looking for. That's pretty consistent in my experience, it's difficult to cover All or even Most of a given subject.

That's why I'd like to give a "High Five" to Steve Beaumont's: "How to Draw Fantasy Art" !!!!!

The book does an above average job of covering the "basics", and then introduces Ten fantasy art drawing exercises / projects. The obligatory Perspective basics are not located in the section of the book that they are in most other books,
but where they really seem to fall into place!

The first three exercises are referred to as "beginner" level, and the subsequent seven projects are "more complex" or advanced. All this with Excellent step by step illustrations, and even Yes... Reference Photos!
The wide variety of exercises presented in this book are designed to increase your skill level step by step, and include Pencil Line & Tone, Marker & Ink Line & Tone, and Inking. This is a book geared toward Fantasy "Illustration", Not about "Sequential" art, Per Se. All the exercises are designed to produce "Stand Alone" single illustrations, and Character Designs. This does not mean an artist interested in sequential art would not benefit from this book though!
The caliber of tonal finish taught in these exercises could easily serve as the basis for acrylic, oil or watercolor paintings, or... "Shudder" digital paintings! OK, I'm a Lover of Traditional Media! But, I was Once an IT professional, go figure?
My personal aspiration is to become worthy of the titles: Artist & Illustrator! Steve Beaumont's book is an Excellent start in the right direction for Me!

The attention to detail in planning this book is just amazing to me! No doubt the fact that Mr. Beaumont teaches a course in Fantasy Art in the UK has a Lot to do with the very Well Laid Out presentation of this book! It's a showcase of some of the teaching experience Mr. Beaumont has developed as a result of that course. If you like to draw and want to learn to draw Fantasy type subjects (or anything else), then I believe that this book would be a good place to start!
I will be striving to become a better artist by practicing these excellent exercises! As great as this book is though, it's us that must supply the Drive to Improve! In the final analysis: "All ya gotta do is do it!"

Finally, the book production itself is Very Good, well laid out and slightly larger than most. The covers are nice heavy stock for a "paperback". The book should survive many long hours on the drawing board or table! In fact it's so reasonably priced I'm going to get a spare for GP! Maybe I'll see about telling the Publisher "Arcturus Ltd." they did a good job with the physical book production as well? (If they don't already know?)

Fantasy art.

This is a fairly useful, competently realised workbook of its type.

Beaumont's 10 step-by-step projects are presented in a clear, no-nonsense way, from source material to rough sketches to finished artwork, in a well laid-out manner.
His approach is a comic-book/graphic novel style which could easily be adapted for illustration work; he covers a good range of approach including pencil work, tonal work, inking, using felt-tip pens and working on toned paper. Along the way he presents the basic principles of perspective, simplification and stylisation of the figure and face, good information on materials and techniques and general ideas about arriving at a concept for your artwork.
Its all information you can find in other publications, but this is as well presented a volume for getting started as any I`ve seen.
It does - as most of these kinds of books do - presume a level of confidence and competency with drawing to begin with, but don`t let that put you off; even trained artists can have difficulty working from imagination if they haven`t had lots of practice or particular training.

I have no problem recommending this as a worthwhile guide if you are prepared to put in the hours working on the projects creatively and if you can obtain the book at a good price.

This covers all the bases in drawing the figure..thats what I wanted...you can add the fantasy part or just use what you want to on your drawing your characters..its a great book..good quality in pages and size..directions easy to follow to take it as far as you want or do your own thing ..it gives you a good base and thats whats important..if you only get one book on drawing fantasy characters get this one..you will have all you need.

A Beautiful Keepsake

This book (which includes a prayer card, and cassette tape, if complete) is a wonderful keepsake. I have owned it for many years, and bought this one for a gift for a dear friend of mine. If you can find an "as new'' copy, it makes a gift that is cherished. It is presented beautifully, and one of the nicest prayer books I've ever seen. A real 'can't miss'.
